VORTEX Real-Time Data Recording, Playback and Analysis Systems

The VORTEX family of Real-Time Data Recorder, Playback and Analysis Systems for analog and digital applications offer sustained recording at rates up to 720MB/s. These high-speed recorders achieve the performance rating in both commercial and ruggedized environments utilizing Fibre Channel storage area network media in JBOD or RAID configurations from cost effective commercial to rugged and solid-state storage. Available as targeted recorders or open custom recorders, the VORTEX family easily integrates into any VME, CompactPCI or PC based system. 

VORTEX High-Speed Data Recorders, Playback and Analysis Systems are a family of hardware and software products dedicated to handling high-speed streaming, digital-data recording, playback, and analysis. VORTEX is the most powerful, flexible, scalable, yet easy-to-use recording capability available today. It is ideally suited for application in digital signal analysis environments including Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaisance (ISR) applications such as Signal Intelligence (SIGINT) including Electronic Intelligence (ELINT) and Communications Intelligence (COMINT) as well as Synthetic Aperature Radar (SAR), Moving Target Indicators (MTI), Software Defined Radio (SDR) as well as medical scanners and industrial inspection systems.

It has a storage system that takes full advantage of power, flexibility, and scalability of a Fibre Channel based Storage Area Network (SAN). VORTEX also includes SAN Access Kit workstation connectivity that allows direct high-speed access to the digital data from almost any commercially available processing platform. The entire VORTEX family of products shares a common design philosophy that allows mixing and matching of I/O, recording engines, storage, and analysis to meet a vast array of program specific requirements.
