The EXC-1553PCMCIA/Px is an advanced one or two-channel MIL-STD-1553A/B interface card for use in the PCMCIA form factor.

Excalibur Systems, Inc., Elmont , N.Y. , is proud to release another card in its MIL-STD-1553 Px family. The EXC-1553PCMCIA/Px is an advanced one or two-channel MIL-STD-1553A/B interface card for use in the PCMCIA form factor.

This credit card sized interface card is compatible with all common variations of MIL-STD-1553 and provides a wide range of features normally found only on full size testers. This board is further advancement in the PCMCIA niche, replacing the single channel EXC-1553PCMCIA/EPII, a type II card.

It has two fully independent, dual redundant 1553 channels, each of which can operate simultaneously as a Bus Controller/Concurrent RT, as up to 32 Remote Terminals, and as a Triggerable Monitor. In addition, the card supplies an Internal Concurrent Monitor in RT and BC/RT modes.

The card supports extensive error injection and detection capabilities, and an internal loop back, which requires no external cabling.

It is supplied with C drivers, including source code, and MerlinPlus Windows software. Additional utility software includes CommMonitor (a communications monitor application for up to 8 channels of 1553 data), and DataReconstructor (to re-transmit a 1553 stream of data previously recorded in MerlinPlus or Exalt). Excalibur’s Exalt Analysis Laboratory Tools fully supports this board.

The EXC-1553PCMCIA/Px is designed for use in a notebook, desktop, or hand-held PocketPC (in the Lance configuration), for use in the lab and in the field.
