With the new JRexplus SBC series Kontron offers for the first time a 3.5" single board computer with a standardized PCI-104™ bus compatible expansion interface. The Kontron JRex family of 3.5" single board computers can therefore now be used with most of the currently available PCI-104™ expansion cards.

Compared to the classic PC/104 SBC format, users now benefit from the 3.5" standard front end connectors defined on all JRexplus conform products and a PCI-104™ expansion port. The new member of the JRexplus series is the 3.5" JRexplus-690 single board computer. It is equipped with the AMD® Turion™ 64 mobile Processor for an excellent performance/energy ratio. New features for the JRex 3.5" Product family are 2 SATA II ports for fast HDD access and dual 10/100/1000 MBit LAN.

The JRexplus-690 still supports 1 PATA (IDE) interface, 4 USB 2.0 and legacy interfaces like 2 xRS232, 1x LPT, Floppy and PS2 mouse / KB. 4 x GPIO and a CF card socket on the bottom side round off the list of interfaces.
