Our mission Our mission is to promote the development and use of open standards and new technologies in the embedded computing industry. We constantly scan the industry for emerging standards, emerging technologies and uniquely innovative products, and we work with industry leaders to develop and publish articles that educate our readers about innovative new products, technologies, and standards of benefit to them.
We publish 7 different magazines (subscribe free), each of which is focused on a particular standard or technology. These include:
A profile of our readers When our readers are asked to choose a title that best describes what they do, about 20% describe themselves as hardware engineers and another 20% describe themselves as software engineers. However, the majority prefer the title system engineer to emphasize the fact that they engineer both hardware and software.
Since most of our readers are under considerable pressure to quickly design and implement their systems, we place a lot of emphasis on tools and off-the-shelf modular hardware and software products that will accelerate the design, integration, and debug of customized computer systems.
